Lash love: Rimmel's Sexy Curves mascara

I can't say I've ever gotten really excited about many mascaras in my life. They don't tend to live up to their marketing and really, even a great mascara can have its faults. That's why I never spend more than $10 on a mascara, and not usually more than $7 or $8. Expensive mascaras just don't seem worth the price to me.

That said, drugstore brand Rimmel does make some very solid mascaras, especially Sexy Curves. I love the rubbery brush that isn't too full and grabs onto even the tiniest lashes. I'm a total spazz and I will get mascara all over my eyelid if the brush is too big. It does help your lashes curl, which makes your eyes look wider and more awake. I use one coat for a natural, everyday look or really glob it on if I want more volume.

Hyped love: Urban Decay Naked Palette

If you're lucky enough to get your hands on it, the Urban Decay Naked Palette absolutely lives up to the hype. If you're a minimalist, it could be the only eyeshadow you need in your makeup bag. You can create infinite looks, from natural to high drama, all with this one set. It also includes a mini Primer Potion and double ended eyeliner. Just add mascara and you're done. I expect this one to be super popular for gift giving this year.

Skin love: Jojoba oil from acne.org

Jojoba oil is the one skincare product that I think nearly everyone could benefit from. Yes, really, everyone. Don't let the word oil scare you. If you have dry skin, jojoba oil is your best friend. It moisturizes like nothing else. If you have oily or acne prone skin, jojoba will help cut back on the oil that your skin produces, restoring balance. Unless you go nuts with it, it won't make you shiny or greasy.

I use it on my face either directly or mixed with moisturizer, mixed into my hair conditioner, to remove makeup, added to my body lotion, etc. I even have a spray bottle with a water/jojoba oil mix that I shake vigorously and spray onto my hair and face for a pick me up.
